My teaching philosophy
Music has been central in my life for as long as I can remember, and so has the joy of sharing it. My very first jobs were as a piano teacher, voice teacher, and assistant Kindermusik teacher.
Now, after nearly two decades as a professional international opera singer, I bring that experience into every lesson — with a deep commitment to vocal health, efficient and sustainable sound production, and helping every student find and trust their own unique voice.
Having completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2020, I am passionate about incorporating breath, alignment, presence, and the ability to manage performance nerves as a foundational part of my teaching (and my own performing!)
I work with students of all ages and levels, between my private studio and my collegiate studio at the College of Charleston, where I serve as Adjunct Faculty (Instructor of Voice.) I also offer piano lessons, drawing on years of teaching and accompanying. And for our youngest musicians, I bring years of Kindermusik experience to early childhood music education, and enjoy teaching the foundations of music in a way that is fun for all ages.
Above all, I want my students to genuinely love making music. Technique matters and I take it seriously — but it is always in service of something larger. I truly believe music is not only an incredible outlet for self expression, but it also has the power to connect us and heal us.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or working toward serious goals, I would love to hear from you! Lessons are available at a variety of levels and rates. Reach out to set up a FREE 15-minute consultation.
